Strategic business planning facilitation and deployment

  • An Eastern Australia asset management company sought assistance to provide an organisation development and intervention assessment for developing current staff to achieve the "3 Horizons" goals and objectives to meet Asset Owner Contract requirements; organisation policies, procedures, work tasks, National Competencies and Industry Standards investigated and issues identify to align to the 3 Horizons timeframe and SAP ERP modules
  • One of Sydney's most picturesque located Councils, required a vision for '2025' and for Councillors to determine what should be the Council services, facilities, amenities and assets the Council should plan and fund to meet the 2025 Vision; the Council also required new Commitments and a set of guiding behavioural Values to enable all Council Management and Staff to perform their activities aligned to both the values and public Corporate Plan
  • Utilised the "GROUPUTER" Technology to capture over 90 people's input from all operations of a National media company, in their Strategic Planning process to produce a Corporate Plan to deploy throughout Australia
  • Completed a strategic planning process and workshop for one of Australia's leading finance/mini-lease company which led to a successful IPO and to be an e-commerce links with a retailer; utilised a Plan-on-a-Page format to communicate such to shareholders and other stakeholders; the Blue Ocean Strategy concept was used and identified gaps in the market and where competitors had not made in-roads

Automotive and Whitegoods Manufacturers’ Design and Process FMEAs

  • Two of Australia's leading Tier 1 Automotive Suppliers to an Australian OEM, required a review of the current production processes to identify the causes of current problems with the product and to determine through Project-based Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis workshops, where the upstream Direct and Root causes were and solutions to be implemented to minimise the 'effects'; Right 1st Time targets and launch achieved
  • The world's leading whitegoods manufacturer required a Design FMEA facilitated workshop process on new products to ensure Design for Manufacture and Design for Assembly capabilities were achieved; secondly, Process FMEAs were then required for current Products to ensure Field Quality Targets were achieved

Lean manufacturing and National Accredited Competitive Manufacturing

  • Swinburne University Victoria required their Sydney client and their 15 Plant Management and Operational staff to complete a Competitive Manufacturing Certificate IV; two projects have been completed, another two to be presented in June and each participants has completed their Lean improvement activities
  • The ASEAN AusAID SME Development Program was completed and the CD was distributed to the 10 ASEAN Member Nation Members which will be the basis for the SME Best Practice Phase II implementation in 2009 conducted under AMSAT International Canberra ACT

Business and quality management systems

  • Re-engineered a worldwide Minerals services company ISO9001:2008 process documentation
  • Implemented a medium Steel Fabricator Process Control Plans, Root Cause Analysis activities

Organisation and Job Design 

  • Work stream Leader in a Saudi Arabian building materials organisation, organisation and job design to support production capacity and capabilities to meet projected growth paths in North Africa and Middle East region
  • A building products company, conducted a joint Management, Technical and Operator Production, Mechanical and Electrical Maintenance, Stores and Logistics function Team Based Culture Building process for new plant

Newsflash

Michaal has recently completed a review of NSW country training and development strategy to support the state business plan.

In addition, he was asked to complete the eastern states zone 2 3-year business plan.

Both planning activities produced a plan on the page along with the three horizon strategy for the planning periods.
